Renos!
I took some more pics of the renos in progress at my condo! What do you think???
It's starting to shape up! :D

All I have to say is...
Slow as molasses
I'm having some computer issues lately (saving Excel files has been exceptionally slow) so I will be getting a new work computer today! :D
This has pluses and minuses: the plus is that you usually get a much nicer, faster machine out of the deal. the minus is that you have to reinstall ALL your business applications, which could take a long time, depending on all the applications you require (and me being a technologist, applications are my bread and butter, so I have plenty!) The IT guy said he's install all my apps for me... somehow I doubt that.
Oh well, if this means I will be able to save Excel files again, Hoooray! :P
Hail damage: my Element is still all dinged up. Someone at the insurance company needs to get their head out of their ass and call me, because I've been waiting and waiting to be told when and where I can take my vehicle in for an adjustment. What a gong show!!!
Last night I was painting till almost 12am! I am really tired today. I think I'll leave early today because I need to do another coat of primer before I start with my bedroom wall color (http://www.glidden.com/colors/getColor.do?colorid=753" title="http://www.glidden.com/colors/getColor.do?colorid=753" target="_blank"http://www.glidden.com/colors...) Nice and light because my bedroom lighting is pretty poor.
I'll probably leave work early so I can get a coat of primer on as well as a coat of color today!
Just another Manic Monday
Well, hello peeps!
I spent the latter half of yesterday packing, and then I went to my condo to apply a second coat of paint to the walls. My flooring guy was there earlier yesterday and when I got there I walked into the place and alll the flooring was ripped up!!! At first it was quite the sight! :?
But once the new flooring is put down, I know I'm going to be pleased! (He also had the tub ripped out of the wall!!! I can't wait to get my new tub put in!!! ...and the tile flooring!!! Oh, It's going to be good!)
Now the place definitely needs new counter tops to match the newly updated floors! I think I'll put a hold on that job... let me move in first
And new appliances! Oh, the joys!
more curse...
I woke up this morning, feeling a little off, but I just thought I over worked myself last night painting. I started packing up some boxes and my back really started hurting, so I decided to have a shower and maybe the hot water would soothe it a bit!... well, I could barely reach my arm over my head without yelping in pain! OMG… I have the biggest knot (or muscle tear) in my back, right above my left shoulder blade! And I’m sure the nerve runs right to my left arm, hence the pre-pain last night!
Why is this curse following me around this summer??? It’s not fair.
I just took a couple extra-strength Ibuprofen and took a nice hot bath, so hopefully I feel better soon.

not a match :(
Well, I spent all last night cleaning walls in my condo and painting after my dentist appointment.
I decided to go check out the paint job this morning... :( the paint color isn't a very good match, and you can see ALL my screw-ups, and spots I missed!
The new color is a bit darker... is this normal for paint on the walls to fade? Or do you think I got a poor color match at the paint store? (Rona) Should I take the paint back and try to get it re-matched? Or continue painting with what I've got? Being very careful at corners!!! (otherwise I'll end up having to repaint every single wall in my place!!!)
Have you got it in you?
I Found this on NatBlog's Blog and it made me laugh:
Tom infuses Oprah with Sceintology
LOL  LOL
(That man has gone MAD!)
still reeling
I still can't believe my luck with the stupid hail! It makes me almost hate driving my new Element!!! :( (Which is sad, because I do love it!) I think that once the hood and roof are fixed, I'll be ok again, but right now just the sight of the hail damage makes me want to cry! :(
Shit like this doesn't happen to me!!!!! Why now???
I'm planning on going to clean my condo and hopefully paint some walls and trim tonight. I've never painted before, so since I'm doing the job alone, this could be interesting!
the horse shoe just fell out!
... of my ass, that is. :?
Yep, one day with my new car, and already I'm filing a claim to my insurance company.
"What happened", you ask???
The weather yesterday went from good to BAD... instantly! I drove down to the deep south to visit my friend, and mother nature decided not just to rain on my parade, but HAIL on it too :( My new Element, looks like a tin can at a shooting range now, all dinged up! Stupid hail!!!
I know, I know... it could have been worse. But still, like I need another thing to worry about! :x
BBQ date
My weekend has been nice and relaxing... I woke up on Saturday to Jenn calling to invite me to her version of a "Stampede breakfast". Mmmm Mmmm, so good! I ended up staying at her place all day, just chilling out watching "The Thorn Birds".
It was turning out to be such an uneventful day, until John (Jenn's boyfriend) did something REALLY, REALLY stupid!!!! (I mean so stupid, they broke up over it!!!!) So, last night Jenn needed me there, so I slept over at her place. I left this morning... John was picking up his tools, and Jenn didn't really want me there.
It was good, as I wanted to go home anyways! (I really should have spent all weekend packing!!!!)
I had a date planned with a guy anyways. He did call :) He came over and made me dinner! It was sooo good!!! (A guy that can cook wins BIG points with a girl that loves to eat :P ) He turned out to be nice, and normal! His name is Pierre. I'm sure I'll see him again. (haven't I said that before???)
I get to pick up my ELEMENT tomorrow!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
just not in the mood
Tonight was the Oxford Stomp party that I've been planning to go to with Diane and Bonnie for a few weeks. We got there around 4pm... it was the usual Stampede drinking event. Everyone was drinking heavily and by 8pm we were getting ran into by everyone!! I was getting so repulsed at how slimy and DRUNK everyone was acting. (guess I wasn't drunk enough or I wouldn't have noticed)
I was ready to go home at that point, but Diane mentioned that her girlfriend was going to get us into the Mynt no line/ no cover... and have a $500.00 bar tab waiting for us when we got to the bar!!! :o Oh ya, Baby!!! I had to stick around for that!
And she was not shitting us!!! Christie pulled us a $500.00 bar tab! It was great not to have to pay for drinks all night! :D
But by 11:30 I was feeling like I just wanted to come home. I'm not much in the mood for Stampeding anymore, I just want sleep. So I hugged everyone and left.
Ahhh... so nice to be home!
I'm just a party pooper lately. I must be depressed. :(
the call of the wild
"Twit twoooo"
(that's my version of a whistle, when a guy sees a hot woman walking down the street)
I got whistled at today! :D I was walking around an industrial area (I needed to sign some papers and get financing in order for the deposit of my flooring) and a car with 2 guys in it, checked me out. As they turned the corner... I heard a loud "Twit Twooo!!!"
All I could do is smile... I must look good today  ... either that or these guys that work in the industrial area are woman deprived. :?
Either way, It made me feel good!
My Condo

<--- this is my new condo. (It's pink. gotta love that  )
Today, I had my flooring guy meet me at my condo to assess my flooring situation. He took my measurements (of the floor, you perverts) and he told me I could pick up my flooring at his brother's flooring shop.
I had so much fun picking out my laminate, tiles, grout, and berber/pile carpet! :) My condo is going to look so much different once we are through with it!!! (Right now it has pink carpets and really bad linoleum in it :? )
I was told to take before and after pictures of the place. I will get my camera in there to take pictures soon, before we start any work.
What do you think of the place? (mine is the lower unit)
Bugs in my grill
Tonight I went for a rollerblade. It was a beautiful night for it... there is a nice cool breeze but the sun is still shining! Perfect temperature for sweating! :P
So, I am on about my 4th loop around the block. It's getting dusky out there, the sun is setting and it's getting cooler out... and of course that's when the BUGS come out! :?
In my face... and more annoyingly, in my MOUTH, stuck in my braces! :?
EWWWW... I couldn't get that feeling of bug wings stuck in my braces out of my mouth... it's still there, I think!!!
But I got a good sweat on... just what I needed. :D

Stampede Pub Crawl Pics
This was the group of us that ended up going on the Stampede Pub Crawl.
Aren't we a good looking bunch?
(and no Jenny, I am NOT hammered here! Just havin' a good time!)
My Friend Jenn
My friend Jenn kicks ass! I don't know if I could do this "being single" thing without her... she's always there when I need her, and she and I can talk for hours about anything! Since I've met her (we met off the internet in October of 2004) we have become pretty good friends... now, even more so.
We joke that I am her "husband" and she is my "wife" because I like to do guy things (sports and mechanics) and am pretty stong. (She makes me do things like lift heavy bags of garbage, and use the power tools! lol It's kinda funny how much like a guy I really am. {Maybe that's my problem...})
While she, as my wife, is all concerned with housewares, cleaning and bedding! (She has the most bedding of one person that I have ever seen!) She is the one that cleaned my house and re-did my bedroom. She made it look much more like an adult's bedroom than the sad decorating job I had attempted (which wasn't much, really). I can not thank her enough for her time and effort on that task!!!
As far as friends go, we really compliment each other. She can also be loud and can be very funny with her dry, sarcastic wit. (It's refreshing not to be the only one cracking jokes around here!)
We have a lot of fun together.
Here's to good friends! Here's to you, Jenn! :D
My Action Packed Friday!
I was given the day off to attend the Stampede Parade this morning. I went with my friend Jenn and her mom, her aunt, her BF, and her BF's parents. The parade was like any usual parade... horses, bands, people looking goofy in costumes and waving at complete strangers as if they are someone important. (The high-light for me was the show band from Minnesota... they had and awesome band that played wicked music, as well their batton throwers danced great! They were so entertaining to watch.) YEEEEHAWWWW!
Jenn's BF drove Jenn and I back to her place where I picked up my car, and decided "I've gotta go test drive that Honda Element I keep thinking about!" So, off I go (alone) to the dealership. I began asking about the orange Element that I saw in the Classifieds on-line. I was told it was already sold :( ... but wait, there is another used one that's just been placed out on the lot. This one is black, and has 1000 less km's than the orange one but does not have power doors. I had to take it out on a test drive anyways, to satisfy my curiousity.
What a great little SUV... I later found out that it was used as a shuttle car for the service part of the Honda dealership... so I'd actually technically be the first OWNER of this vehicle. :)
For the year (2003) it has very few km's (17,000) and I knew I wouldn't find a better deal... so I made it happen!
I am the proud owner of a
Black 2003 Honda Element! :D
(Well, I don't actually have it right now... I need to get my financing in order first, but as far as I'm concerned, it's my new car :D) YAHOOOOO!
box 'er up!
So, I went out and bought some good Rubbermaid totes for packing in... I can use them in the storage room after I move. I plan on moving a little bit of stuff to my new place every night, so I might only need a truck for the big stuff like my bed, couch, dresser, armoire and BBQ. It might be the same price just to get a mini moving company to help me out though, I'm looking into it. (Less hassle too!)
I still need to call this guy to see if he can install my flooring... my friend Jenn said she went to school with this guy and that she was going to use him also to do her flooring. Maybe he'll give us a deal! (I can always try to get the Cute Girl Discount?)
Also, I need to get my car looked at before I sell it... so I called my Uncle's mechanic, and he said he'd call me back soon, once he looks into finding the part he needs to fix my brake interlock switch! YAY!!!
One more day as an Oiler
Tomorrow is my last day as a Medicine Hat Oil'er. My last day with my old job is tomorrow! Then it's off to Parkland! Yay!
OMG, it's just hit me, I have less than a month to pack up my entire house and MOVE! :? WOW!
PS... Some people are JERKS! (I just had to let that out!)
Hiatus... now I'm back.
I decided to take a few days away from things... my computer, my phone... it's been kinda nice.
But all good things come to an end, and it's Sunday, and time to face the reality that Monday morning is just around the corner.
I'm also feeling very deflated about things in my personal life... and I'm just glad that I have my move and the renos to my new condo to keep my mind off of it. (One of my guy friends asked me "What is wrong with you?" and I'm starting to wonder the same thing. )
