Comeback Queen?

Wel, actually I'm not back at all.  I'm still here, writing this blog entry from Vancouver.  At Dave's work right now... it's not a big thrill here! :(

I can't wait to get home to the SNOW and COP!  I'm going through  some serious activity WITHDRAWL.  I really miss home.

I hate packing.  I wish I could just fold up my closet and take it all with me (or I wish someone would just clean sweep everything out of it that I don't wear!!!)  I am the worst, I call myself a clothes hoarder.   I have a hard time throwing ANYTHING out.  :(  I guess that's what second hand stores are for!!!

So, that's my big undertaking for tonight... packing up all the presents I've got to bring, my clothes and toiletries, my snow suit (and the kitchen sink!) Ah... like I said before, I hate packing.  I think I'm just going to pack enough clothes for a week and recycle them.  I guess I'll be wearing a lot of coordinates :wink:

I HEART snowboarding!

I had a wicked awesome time on the hill on Thursday.  The snow was melting like a sonofabitch but we managed to get our ride on anyways!  Like I've said many times before, at least I was out on my board, instead of on my couch with the remote! :wink:  (which I'm sure most other people were.)  It seemed the only people out on the hill were teenage snowboarder boys or old skier men.  So, we mostly kept to ourselves... which was OK.

I was the "pro" boarder of the group.  I didn't realize Kate was SOoo novice.  She has been out on her board more times than I have, yet she wasn't even linking up turns yet! :?  Oh well, I must have caught on fast, cause I was ripping it up!!!  :P  I did manage to fall a few times (the snow was basically ice pellets, not that easy to ride on) and I did manage to bruise my right cheek.  (and not the cheek on my face :wink:)  But I'm ok now... and it was worth it!

The girls left at 9:15, I stayed out till almost 10!  I wanted to get more practice!  FUN!!!  Now, I just need to get my own helmet and goggles :) and I'll be ALL good to go!

Once inside the mall, it was unusually quiet.  I expected line-ups and baby's crying galore, but I maybe waited 3 mintues TOPS at one store of all the stores I shopped at today!  SWEET!  It was a good day!

... Until it was time to pick out a gift for David! :?  I was so lost!  I didn't know what he wanted... and then when I finally did know what to get, I was asking questions like "What size? What color?"... I seriously freaked out in the store, I started sweating profusely!!  I forced myself to leave the store.

Finally, Thursday is here!  I'm heading out to COP (Calgary Olympic Park http://www.canadaolympicpark.ca/" title="http://www.canadaolympicpark.ca/" target="_blank"http://www.canadaolympicpark....) for some fun tonight with a co-worker; Lori and her friend Kate!  It will be awesome!!!  Great temperature too (supposed to go up to +8oC today!!!) 

Let's hope all the snow hasn't disappeared by the time I get out there!!!

Today we decided to make our way out to Sunshine for a half day of snow boarding.  And I got nominated to drive today :? (I hate driving cause it means you have to drive home in the dark!!!)  But I thought, "Whatever, suck it up... it will be fine".

Not so fine... the hiway out of Calgary is great, but as soon as we hit Banff it goes to sh!t!  It was sketchy, becasue it was icy in patches, then snow blown in others!  It was so unpredictable!  And as luck would have it, we hit one of those ICY spots... My car was literally OUT OF CONTROL...  we were rocking side to side like a ride at the fair!!... we finally turned 180 Degrees around... so we are facing INTO traffic!!!  On the HIWAY!!! :o  (Yeah, not good!!!)  Luckily there was NO traffic directly behind me, and we were able to get my car onto the shoulder fast enough before a semi crashed into me!  It happened soooo fast!!!  I can't believe we didn't hit the center cement barrier or the ditch!  We were SOOO DAMN lucky!

After that fiasco, I was a trembling wreck!  Funny, cause we were just talking about how I need to buy an SUV for the amount I drive out to the mountains.... I think this was a sign.  I need a safer vehicle!

I think I need to ask for a new car for Christmas! :wink:

This week can't end fast enough.  I am so bored at work!!! I was tempted to bring in some of my beading projects today!!!  (Beats picking my ass!)  Or maybe I should learn a new job???  People think I should look into learning the engineering end of my job... somehow it doesn't excited me to learn the engineering crap (lots of numbers! :? ) But I guess you do what you've gotta do to pay the bills, right?

So, I'm getting really excited for the Holidays :)  Can't wait to take off to Vancouver for a couple weeks!  David and I are getting along so great!!!  I wish we could be together NOW!!! :(  Oh well... soon! :D

What are your holiday plans?

Damn!  It's cold here in Calgary!  For the past week it's been sub zero temperatures... I was sorta looking forward to it (so I could wear my new "faux fur" coat) but I'm over that now, and I just want some nice temperatures (and less icy roads) back!!!  I hear the chinook rolls in tomorrow (supposed to get up to +1oC) so I'm looking forward to that. :)

So, it's been booked!  I am going to Vancouver for the Holidays this year!  Me and David are going to celebrate together!  Aweeee... He was going to be all alone otherwise... and well, that just sucks!  We will probably make a trip to Nanaimo for boxing day to visit with my family. (they are going to visit Jen and Ken on the Island)  It will be awesome to have David meet my family! (I hope that doesn't ruin my chances with him :wink: Ha ha... well, I guess if it does, he's not the right man for me...  
David's pretty chill 8) ... I'm sure he will get along with my family, no problem!

We did make it out to Sunshine today (a mountain an hour West of Calgary)... what a PEFRECT day!  It snowed all day!  POWDER!!! (those of you who ski/board can understand my delight!)  I have never boarded on powder before, but man... it's awesome!

We all had fun!  I'll post pics when I get them (I took a disposable camera, cause, let's face it, my digital camera is a bit expensive to crush as I fall on my ass!!! :wink: )  But today, even falling was NO PROBLEM... powder really cushions the blow!!!  (However, I really only fell a few times... nothing major!)  But for some reason I could not for the life of me get off the chair lift without causing a scene! (knocking my friends over, or falling myself!) It was BAD!  I blame it on the fact that I was forced to ride regular (when I ride goofy) and that we tried to fit 3 people on the chair lift.  (That's my story :wink:  )

Anyone else have any adventerous weekend tales?

I do this EVERY YEAR.  I got on a shopping spree, and buy ALL the things I want!  And leave nothing for the people that want to buy me a present!

Today was "snowboarding gear day" so I went to Sport Chek and loaded myself UP!  I got a new boarding jacket, pants, mitts, boots, toque.  I'm gonna be a styling chicka out there on the slopes this year!  :)   (We're planning on heading out to the mountain tomorrow, hopefully the weather holds out.  I don't want to drive in a snow storm!) 

I'm excited to play on the slopes though... I've been excited since last year!!!  This year, however, I am bringing my knee pads!!! :wink:
