needing fibre!
After my little episode of acid reflux yesterday, I think I have been eating too much pasta and not enough fruits and veggies.
Today I attempted to make my old standby meal: Feta Chicken and Veggies on rice. Well, it turned out just like I remember it (ummmm, Feta...) but I still can't really chew properly...so that really puts a damper on the whole enjoyment factor :(
Oh well... my teeth are so straight now! I must post a picture! I can't believe these braces have only been on for a month and a half!!! :) Yippeee!
Before:
Today:
(look at how straight my archwire is!!! With the exception of that stubborn eye tooth on the bottom left... they look Marvelous!!! :D)
FYI... I didn't work out after my course today  I know, I know... tomorrow I will work extra hard
almost puked at the gym today... yummy!
Ugh... I never work out after work... now I know why! I ate my lunch fairly late today (12:30-1:30ish) and had pasta (fairly heavy in my belly) ... and I decided to go to the gym after my course got out... so I get to the gym around 4:30... and started to run on the treadmill.... my GOD, I thought I was gonna ralph on the damn treadmill!!! I had such BAD heartburn, I had to stop running 30 minutes into it!!! I couldn't even perform weight exercises that required my upper body to be horizontal after that... I was burning inside! EVEN DOING ABS HURT!
I left the gym fairly unsatisfied. That doesn't usually happen!
Well, 2 more days of this course... and working out after work... let's see if I can figure out the right way to do this...
...tomorrow for lunch: Soup. I'll let you know how that goes
not the best weekend on record...
So, everyone is having a great time enjoying themselves... I ended up staying at the party really late with a few collegues; Brian, Ron, and Courtney. We were playing pool and just goofing around. When we finally decided to leave, I realized that someone stole my leather jacket so I was pissed!
We all decided, well there's nothing we can do about the jacket, let's catch a cab... well, Courtney decided to run to catch one, she tripped on the cement and hit the pavement with her face! I witnessed the whole thing! She was unconsious, and as we turned her over, she was bleeding from the mouth! I freaked out! I've never seen a friend get hurt before, let alone a head injury! Turns out, she knocked a tooth out. They saved the tooth and called the EMS. Ron and I were told to go home, so I caught a cab. Before I left, Brian was asking to go with Courtney to make sure she was going to be alright... and with someone for support.
I got home and bauled for about another hour! My head was so cloudy and I had a headache from crying... GOD really put loosing my coat into perspective, didn't he? I think he took it a little too far, actually!
I get it! I get it!
Play safe everyone...
Learning about the opposite sex
Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus!

It is so true... I was reminded about this book by a collegue, after he heard me complaining about guys, and how they are "so typical!"
If you are single, and haven't read this book, you really should! It will give you a lot of insight on how the opposite sex thinks, why they do what they do and it gives you pointers on how to better handle the behavior you dislike of your partner.
To tell you the truth, I think MEN really need to read this book... us women sorta already have it mostly figured out, right girls?
Meeting new people
So, I've decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and just get out and meet some new people.
Yesterday I met a guy for a coffee. He is the downhill MTBer that I have been talking to from Lava. He seems really nice... but man, his job sure seems stressful. He's got a lot of grey hair for a 31 year old!
Tomorrow evening I'm meeting another guy for coffee... Just coffee. I prefer it this way. I'm not gonna jump in with both feet like I used too... that is just not the right way.
Looking forward to going out with Karie this weekend for drinks and good times. I need a night out!!!
We've got a Computer DOWN!!!
My home computer is a little screwed at the moment... so I have to blog at work...
I'm pathetic! I actually cried because I couldn't get on the internet yesterday... do you think I'm lonely??? :(
I need more single friends!
Dating machine, no more
Remember when I was a dating machine!? Remember when I had a new guy every week? What ever happened to those days??? I've been sitting here pining for a guy in Vancouver... which was basically never going to turn into anything more than a great friendship. (Things between David and I are pretty much over, we still talk, but we are just friends now.)
I was home alone on a Friday night... that's not right for a cute, young, single girl like me. I should be out mingling, partying, having some fun!!! I need to meet some other single girls to go out with... (it's true only other single girls can really understand what we are all about... women in a relationship can offer us no advice, they don't "get" being single right now. It's hard!)
I think I should focus my energy on meeting some single girls to hang out with before I start to meet more single guys to try and date. Would that be a good idea? ... other single girls, let me hear ya!

Team Building
I can plan like a MOFO... when I'm using someone else's credit card!
Yesterday we finally got to attend out yearly work team building event. (which I planned with the help of a collegue, Laree) It turned out fantastic! Everyone had a super time. We ate lots of food, drank lots of drink, and made quite the fools of ourselves when we had to immitate the monkeys! LOL (It was a riot, wish someone had a video camera!!!)
After the Zoovivor events (that's what the Zoo calls it!) we came back downtown and headed for drinks at a pub called Auburns... then to the top of the Calgary tower for supper in the revolving restaurant Panorama. (We revolved about 2 times in the 3 hours we were there.) Supper was great! Pricey but tastey!! (I love it when you can order whatever on the menu and price is no object!)
:D It was a good day!
Braces Update
So I went in for my 6 month teeth cleaning today. The hygienist was very happy with how clean my teeth were considering the braces. YAY! Her comments made me happy! Also, a funny thing from my Dentist... (who also wears braces BTW) She asked me "How are your braces?" I said "Great, have you had yours removed yet??" She looks at me ans says "Oh, no! Long ways to go yet... Sounds to me like you are enjoying your braces more than I am enjoying mine."
Does she know the pain I have been through in the past month? I don't think so. (But I thought it was cute... I do appreciate that I am very lucky to be able to afford to do this to my teeth. )
...so I guess eventhough some days are painful... I love my brace face! I'll love it even more in 23 months! )
... the fat came back, the very next day
I knew it was too good to be true. The scale was back at it's usual number today... I knew that lost pound would find it's way back somehow....
Damn Genetics!

Turkey Weekend
Family is great!
I was supposed to get out to see my best friend this weekend (she lives in Cold Lake, some 7 hours away) but that never ended up happening. :( I feel really bad about the whole situation, and now I think Raeleen is holding a grudge :( Hmmppp...
I did manage to get to Leduc, however, and that's where I stayed the entire time. My Dad was home for the week, and he has recently found out that he's got a bunch of things wrong with him. All the talk of him going in for surgery freaked me out a little... He's got a detached retina in his right eye, and carpel tunnel syndrome in his left wrist! He was looking pretty weathered and tired this weekend, but I think he really enjoyed spending the time with the family... and off his feet!!! (Poor guy though... I really wish he didn't have to swing a hammer for a living anymore.) He really does deserve a break!!!
And how did I manage to eat and eat this weekend, and still lose a pound???
not the best week for Bloggin....
Long weekends RULE!
YAY!!! Finally time to relax. I'm going to try to do as little as possible, and eat as much as possible this weekend... sound like a good long weekend plan?
I taught a lot of Body PUMP classes this week, I just need a good sleep! I'm wiped out. The weather is supposed to be nice too, so maybe I'll be able to get out on my bicyclette?? Perhaps, for a nice leisurely ride amongst all the fallen leaves... ahhh.... love Fall!
OK, Back to work. Want to leave early today! Cheers Ya'll!
Almost missed my flight...
TRAFFIC!
So, I almost missed my 6:15pm flight home on Monday... traffic in Surrey was retarded! There were accidents everywhere and the fact that it was rush hour didn't help. I got to the airport at 5:50... for my 6:15 flight!!! Yikes! I was so freaked out... I was literally pulling out my hair! (Thank God David knows how to drive crazy... otherwise I would have missed my flight for sure!) But then I get to security and they rip apart one of my bags.... all for a watch that they could not recogize in the metal scanner image. I was pissed! I think I ended up being the last (or one of the last) to board the plane! Crazy!!! I've never been that late for a flight EVER! I hated it! I was so exhausted by the time I arrived in Calgary, I just wanted to sleep.
Braces update... they are still hurting me. On and off. I hate them. Can't wait to get them off... only 23 more months to go... HURRY UP!
Survivor and My Weekend! :)
Survivor
Well, last nights episode sure was interesting... a double immunity, double tribal councel episode. I was glad to see Mia go... she had a bad attitude. I am gonna miss J.P.... he was kinda cute.

It's off to Vancouver again, but this time for a party! David is turning 27 on Monday, so I'm going to visit as his present.

It will be fun!!! I haven't gone out and really let loose in a long, long time. Have a great weekend ya'll. Be Back in Calgary late Monday Night!
